The first visitors to the Durmitor massif were recorded around 1900. Since then, until today, a large number of nature lovers occupy the area of Durmitor. As the best indicator, it tells us that in the Durmitor massif there are 2,000 km of marked trails and 48 peaks over 2,000 m, five canyons, of which the Tara river canyon is the deepest and most beautiful in Europe, 18 lakes, the largest and most beautiful of which is Crno Jezero. In addition to the marked trails that lead to some of the peaks of Durmitor, there are also a number of pits and caves for speleology lovers. The peaks of Durmitor, each with a different shape, deep bays, bare cliffs, rugged slopes, are an exceptional challenge for mountaineers, especially for those who want to climb them using pegs and ropes. The number of visitors to the massif in winter conditions is also increasing.

Many cliffs, most of which have already been conquered, beckon for alpinist endeavors. There are also attractive rocks for lovers of sport climbing, as well as a couple of training grounds for training rescuers and alpinists, both in summer and in winter conditions. Anyone who wants to try alpinism, on Durmitor, the people from the mountaineering society will be happy to meet him and on one of the trainers will help him to overcome the beginner's steps and experience a feeling that he will remember for a long time.
