Fish Lake, a new place for music
Klapa Cambi on Sunday, July 17
Riblje jezero, one of the 18 Durmitor mountains, will be the venue for two exceptional concerts this year.
The day after the Opening Ceremony with renowned Zagreb soloists, one of the best ensembles that cultivate the sound of Dalmatian songs will perform on the shore of this lake - the Cambi choir.
Klapa Cambi consists of tenors Eduard Šegota, Jozo Delaš and Duško Britvić, baritone Mislav Biočina, bass-baritone Hrvoje Lozančić and bass Dino Šimera.
Klapa was founded in 1986, and became known to a wider audience in 1991.
With his first performance in Omiš at the Dalmatian Klapa Festival. With every performance and superb performances, singing traditional Dalmatian and fun songs, Klapa Cambi managed to achieve the harmony of Dalmatian musical heritage and contemporary musical trends. Klapa succeeded in this due to its freshness and originality, as well as its equally suggestive performances of contemporary standards of Dalmatian songs, as well as unique interpretations of pop-rock material by Zlatan Stipišić Gibonni, as well as other well-known authors. Klapa Cambi deserves full attention as the only klapa crossover product suitable for the new century, which brings the best experiences of klapa tradition, but also the sensibility of pop stars aware of the current time and space.
The fish lake, as its name suggests, was once full of fish, but it is also known for the legend that says that the Italian carabinieri caught two trout in it that were the size of one end of the lake road to the other. After the concerts on the famous Black Lake in previous years, the Festival decided to embark on an adventure of discovering some of the incredible lakes of the Durmitor region, each of which carries a unique atmosphere, an original story and an unusual legend - said the Festival's PR department.
