Durmitor massif

This massif, in a circle with a diameter of less than six kilometers, has as many as 48 peaks above 2000m, of which 40 are over 2100m, 27 are over 2200m, 18 are over 2300m, 7 are over 2400m and only one is over 2500m (Bobot's hip). It is characterized by sharp peaks, some resembling alpine needles (Minin bogaz, Zupci) and others, with massive domes or mottled sides resembling rods (Prutaš, Šareni pasovi), some peaks are vertically cut (Sava kuk, Hljeme) with a unique appearance and color (Međed), brightly colored (Crvena Greda) or those
the third saddle (Sedlena greda), twisted (Uvita greda), round (Obla glava), lonely (Stožina) and all of them are a real paradise for mountaineers.

Panoramic road Durmitor ring is a round trip of 76 kilometers. The tour starts from the center of Žabljak and continues around the Durmitor mountain massif. During this route you will have the opportunity to see the deepest canyon in Europe, vast plateaus and some of the highest peaks in this country and meet the local people who will bring you closer to the way of life in these regions.

At the beginning of the route, our recommendation would be to make a short trip to the Ćurevac viewpoint. From this place you can enjoy an unforgettable view of the Tara canyon.

The Durmitor ring panoramic road is marked in both directions. Follow the brown signs along the road, marked with the "Panoramic Roads" logo and the number 2. If you want to use the audio guide, you need to go anti-clockwise. In case you are traveling by motorhome, we suggest you drive clockwise. This section is not suitable for larger campers.
