Cooperation between Žabljak and Vrnjačka Banja, training course for tourist workers
The Tourism Organization of the Municipality of Žabljak, as a partner, together with the Municipality of Vrnjačka Banja, which is the leading user, the first module that ends today in Žabljak, implements the project "Increasing employment, mobility and employment opportunities in the five-star health and spa tourism chain in Vrnjačka Banja and Žabljak".
The cross-border cooperation project is worth 285,660 euros, of which 85 percent is financed by the EU, and 15 percent is co-financed by the beneficiaries. The implementation period is 18 months starting from January 1 of this year.
The goals of the project are encouraging employment and cross-border employment opportunities in the fields of health and spa tourism and increasing employability in the field of food production and processing of high added value for health and spa resorts, increased employment opportunities, raising awareness of employment opportunities, support for youth education.
The key activity of the project is the training course for tourism workers. The course will be held in 12 modules with different topics, says TO Žabljak Director Vanja Krgović Šarović.
"The first module is dedicated to cooking. Through discussion and presentation exercises, twenty-six registered chefs will create menus and analyze them, show creativity in cooking, prepare and serve appetizers, and offer all this through an interactive presentation for tasting in the restaurant of the "Žabljak" hotel, where the project is being implemented. Their tasks are similar when it comes to preparing main dishes, desserts and sweets," says Šarović.
The lecturer on the first module was Filip Ćirić, a renowned chef of a fine dining restaurant from Belgrade.
Subsequent modules, both for chefs and waiters, will be held according to the program in these two tourist places. Participants will also attend modules in Žabljak and Vrnjačka Banja, regardless of which of these cities they live and work in, Krgović Šarović said.
