20,000 tourists are expected in Žabljak
We expect that around 20,000 tourists will visit Žabljak this season, as Durmitor is becoming an increasingly popular tourist destination every year, and this is supported by good visits in the pre-season, the director of the Žabljak Tourist Organization Vanja Krgović-Šarović told Pobjeda.
He says that there is a noticeable increase in tourists from Germany and France and that the summer tourist offer this year is diverse.
"First of all, we offer rafting, zipline, canyoning, jeep safari, hiking, hiking, bird watching, riding the Savin Kuk cable car with panoramic views, boating on the Black Lake, the panoramic route Durmitorski prsten... The events include musical concerts, the Green Film Festival , promotion of Durmitor food, Mountain Flower Days and sports events", explains Krgović-Šarović.
As for the accommodation capacities, the interviewee Pobjeda points out that there are ten hotels and an extremely large number of private accommodations, which include villas, apartments and rooms.
"Rural tourism is expanding, which also offers food and accommodation. What is missing at the moment is a hotel with larger accommodation capacity. The existing hotels are smaller, which is a problem when it comes to accommodating larger organized groups of tourists," Krgović-Šarović points out.
She adds that the traffic infrastructure is good and that Žabljak is well connected with other Montenegrin municipalities.
"The local network of roads is very good, so there is almost no village that is not connected to the city center by an asphalt road," emphasizes Krgović Šarović.
