Zminje Lake – a small mountain lake surrounded by rocks and the greenery of Durmitor.

Zminje Jezero

Zminje Lake is one of the smaller yet remarkably picturesque glacial lakes within Durmitor National Park. Located at about 1,520 meters above sea level, it lies in a dense coniferous forest southwest of Black Lake, and near the village of Bosača. The lake is known for its tranquil setting, greenish water color, and rich forest surroundings that provide a deep sense of peace and natural harmony.

Access and Hiking

A marked footpath leads to Zminje Lake from the direction of Black Lake, and one of the recommended circular tours includes the route: Barno Lake – Zminje Lake – Black Lake. This trail is suitable for walking as well as mountain biking, especially along the route: Žabljak – Ivan Do – Mlinski Potok – Zminje Lake.

Just a few minutes' walk from Zminje Lake, on the western side of the village of Bosača, lies Barno lake – a shallow lake surrounded by thick marsh vegetation. According to local belief, the waters of Barno Lake have healing properties, especially in treating skin conditions.
