Lake Zminica
Zminica Lake is located at an altitude of 1285 meters, near the village of Zminica, at the foot of Mount Sinjajevina. It is surrounded by dense coniferous forests and spacious meadows, which gives it a recognizable and authentic rural ambience, very attractive to visitors in search of nature and silence.
The lake is 280 meters long and 240 meters wide, with a maximum depth of 3.8 meters. In the shallower parts near the shore, the depth does not exceed 0.7 meters. The main source of water is snowmelt in the spring, which causes a significant decrease in water levels during the summer months.
A special feature of Zminičko Lake is a species of leeches that is traditionally used in folk medicine. In addition, the lake's shores are inhabited by a rich population of wild ducks and other waterfowl, which further contributes to its natural value and attractiveness for nature lovers and ornithologists.
