This year, the tourist organization of Žabljak offered guests, both domestic and foreign, a printed edition of the legends and lore of the Durmitor region, "Durmitor's Legends".

It is a book that, in the form of a pocket-sized souvenir edition, represents to tourists the huge cultural treasure of this area, the extraordinary range of oral literature that has witnessed throughout the centuries the richness of the imagination of the inhabitants of Jezera, Durmitor, Piva and the Tara canyon, but also preserved the memory of historical events. and historical figures.

In addition to heroes and lords, passionate hunters and brave shepherds, through 27 stories, fairies and devils, saints and gods, dragons and dragons, all kinds of miracles pass before the readers, in locations that are now the favorite destinations of travelers from all over the world. Legends shed new light on lakes, peaks, canyons, villages... giving them a new dimension and depth, making them even more attractive.

The legends were selected and processed by Sonja Živaljević, trying above all to show the variety and wealth of motifs, the antiquity of some traditions, and their poetic nature.

The illustrations were made by Nikoleta Ćorović, and the design and preparation for the press by Gojko Mitrović. The Durmitor legends have been translated into English by Peter Stonelake.
