Sports fishing is allowed in the period from May to October, on the Black Lake and in the canyon of the Tara River. Fishing is only possible with a daily sports-fishing permit, which can be purchased from the National Park ranger on the spot. Fishing is allowed with one rod using artificial baits, on certain days in certain localities. The most common species that can be caught are trout, bream and grayling. We recommend catching them and returning them to the water.
Black Lake - Sports fishing is carried out on the right bank of the Great Black Lake. It is allowed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 14:00 to 19:00, and on Sundays from 08:00 to 19:00. The daily permit is issued by the supervisor at the Black Lake.
Tara River - Sports fishing is carried out in the following areas:
- On Wednesdays, from Splavište, II camp to the bridge on Đurđevića Tara.
- On Fridays from the bridge on Đurđevića Tara to Žugica port.
- On Saturdays from Žugić luka to II Bijeli vrela.
- On Sundays from Tepački most to Badnjin.
Maximum allowable catch:
Black lake: four trout, minimum length 25cm.
Tara River: three trout, minimum length 25cm.
