Ski resorts in Žabljak ready for the season

Ski centers Savin kuk and Javorovača, which have fully prepared terrain and infrastructure, will start working at the end of the month, when the first tourists are expected in Žabljak, announced the director of the local Tourist Organization (TO), Vanja Krgović Šarović.

"A large part of the preparations for the upcoming winter tourist season in Žabljak has already been done. I'm referring primarily to our ski centers Savin kuk and Javorovača", said Krgović Šarović to the Mina-business agency.

She said that a lot of things in the ski centers have been modernized, especially on Savina kuk, where a new road from the town to the ski resort was constructed, as well as a new, modern parking lot for visitors.

"Work is also underway on the construction of a system for artificial snowmaking of the track, so that from the next tourist season we will also have this new type of infrastructure at the Savin kuk ski resort," added Krgović Šarović.

Javorovača is currently working on a program for the youngest, who are the most numerous visitors to the ski resort.

"Thus, through ski camp programs for them and schools in nature, then through learning the first steps on the snow and visits to the sports center, we will work on linking tourism and sports and promoting healthy lifestyles," said Krgović Šarović.

She announced that TO Žabljak did a large part of the preparations for the season during the fall, and it is primarily about promotion and marketing campaigns on the markets in the region.

Krgović Šarović also said that in the second half of the month, the town is expected to be decorated and decorated traditionally, along with the New Year's Bazaar on the main town square, which will mark the beginning of the winter tourist season.

As for the hotels in Žabljak, they will be open in the next ten to 15 days, because they are currently working on preparing for the New Year holidays, tidying up and modernizing their capacities.

"This is exactly the period when we expect the biggest boom in guests in Žabljak, that is, the period when more beds are required," said Krgović Šarović.

She stated that TO Žabljak expects that all available capacities will be filled in that period.

"The further course of the season will in any case depend on weather conditions, i.e. the amount of precipitation and more snow, which is favorable for maximum visits to our ski centers", explained Krgović Šarović.

She added that the prices of pension services in Žabljak this tourist season have not changed and that they have remained at the level of last year.
