Current information about the corona virus (COVID-19) for tourists in Montenegro

In order to protect the health of citizens and tourists staying in Montenegro, the Government of Montenegro adopted a series of temporary measures aimed at preventing the risk of the possible spread of the COVID-19 virus. What is mandatory?

Obligation to wear masks in public closed spaces and observe physical distance measures of at least two meters in closed and open spaces.

What is open?
  • Traffic by personal vehicles within Montenegro

  • Shopping centers (Obligations: a distance of at least 2m between consumers/visitors who are in front of the shopping center; one consumer/visitor can be inside the shopping center per 10m2 of the object's surface; means for disinfecting the hands of consumers/visitors at the entrance/exit of the shopping center center and in each individual building in the shopping center.

  • All ports of entry for all cruise ships and yachts

  • Inland maritime traffic is fully open

  • Cafes, restaurants, bars (Obligations: employees wear masks; max 4 people at a table (except for families); between tables min 2m or a screen; hand disinfection at the entrance/exit; no self-service; no standing or lingering at the bar)

  • Bathing areas/beaches (Obligations: a distance between sets of beach furniture of at least two meters, in the part of the public bathing area where beach furniture is not placed, ensure a physical distance of at least two meters, except for members of a joint family household; maintain hygiene and disinfect beach furniture and equipment ; at the showers, fountains and in the toilets at the swimming area/beach, users of unorganized swimming areas are obliged to respect a distance of at least two meters, except for members of a joint family household

  • Public city transport in municipalities where there is no infection (Obligations: wearing protective masks, hand disinfection when entering/exiting the vehicle, no possibility for passengers to stand in the vehicle

  • Taxi transport (Obligations: passengers and driver wear protective masks; after the ride, surfaces most often touched by passengers must be disinfected)

Who has the obligation to self-isolate, i.e. home quarantine?

  • Institutional isolation is mandatory for persons who have been in quarantine or self-isolation and whose test results for the new coronavirus are positive, and they must be isolated from healthy people, and they cannot be provided with self-isolation in family accommodation; persons who were treated in a hospital, have recovered and have no symptoms of the disease, but do not yet have two consecutive negative results from samples taken within 24 hours;
