Baroque in Žabljak

Wild Beauty Art pays special attention to young Montenegrin artists

As with previous editions of the Wild Beauty Art Festival, this year too, various bands and artists from Montenegro will perform in Žabljak. Two programs with representative pieces of baroque music stand out.

On Thursday, July 27, in the Žabljak Cultural Center, the festival audience will have the opportunity to watch a stage performance of the cantata Apollo and Daphne by Georg Friedrich Handel, which was written for soprano, baritone and chamber orchestra. The author of this project is a soprano Sara Vujošević Jovanović, who performs the role of Daphne, baritone Dmitry Grinykh performs the role of Apollo, while the co-author of the project is a harpsichordist Milica Radoman. In addition to them, eleven other Montenegrin musicians will participate in the audio-visual performance of this rarely performed work.

At Macan Poljana, on Wednesday, August 3, a concert with the music of two great baroque composers, Antonio Vivaldi and Johann Sebastian Bach, will be given by violinists Dina Kukalj and Tanja Ševaljević Bogdanović, and a young pianist Vasilije Basarab.

Along with the presentation of the debut author's album and examples of music videos by the composer Ana Krstajić, originally from Žabljak, the baroque music concert at Macan poljana involves the collaboration of the Wild Beauty Art Festival with one of the largest instrument manufacturers, Yamaha. Thanks to the cooperation with Yamaha's representative for Montenegro, the company Euro-Unit, this summer we will have the opportunity to listen to two exceptional programs on the Yamaha piano again, after the performance of pianist Kemal Gekić at Crni Jezera at the first edition of the festival and last year's performance of jazz pianist Matija Dedić. – said the festival's PR service.

The fifth International Wild Beauty Art Festival takes place from July 16 to August 13 with the slogan One for All, All for One, and represents the point of convergence of three important branches of Montenegro: culture, ecology and tourism. The festival is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism, with the general sponsorship of the company Those, while the implementation of the festival was supported by the partners and friends of the festival: Tourist Organization Žabljak, Ministry of Culture and Media, Municipality of Žabljak, National Park Durmitor, Yamaha and Euro-Unit, Embassies of Austria and Germany, University of Montenegro and others.
