Jablan lake
Jablan Lake is located at an altitude of 1,791 meters, at the foot of Crvena Greda, and is one of the many glacial lakes of Durmitor National Park. Nestled in a natural amphitheater surrounded by forest and mountain ridges, this lake offers a peaceful environment and exceptional scenic beauty.
Access to the lake is possible from several directions, but the most commonly recommended route is by car to the restaurant Momčilov Grad, from where a hiking trail continues through the pine forest. The trail has a gentle incline, making it suitable for recreational visitors and families with children.
View of Durmitor and natural connection with the surroundings
The position of Jablan Lake allows visitors to enjoy panoramic views of the higher parts of Durmitor, including Međed, Savin Kuk, the Ice Cave, and Bobotov Kuk. Above the lake rises Crvena Greda (2,164 m), known for its rich geological structure, where fossil remains of plants and shells can be found, adding scientific value to the area.
Thanks to the proximity of other well-known locations, such as Black Lake, Zminje lake (Snake lake) and the Jezerska plateau, Jablan Lake is often included in hiking and educational routes around Žabljak and Durmitor National Park.
